  • Three IAA Presidents and “Best of Show” winners will face off at Independence Art Association’s 38th Annual Member Art Show, June 4-28, at Vivilore, at 10815 Winner Road in the Englewood Arts District. Current IAA President, Pat Pummill Betteridge and former IAA Presidents, Emory Dillon and Sina Ryburn, are all winners of the distinguished “Best of Show“ award.

  • Three IAA Presidents and “Best of Show” winners will face off at Independence Art Association’s 38th Annual Member Art Show, June 4-28, at Vivilore, at 10815 Winner Road in the Englewood Arts District. Current IAA President, Pat Pummill Betteridge and former IAA Presidents, Emory Dillon and Sina Ryburn, are all winners of the distinguished “Best of Show“ award.
    Pat Pummill Betteridge is a retired art teacher who won the title in 2007 with “Snack Time.” She graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute and specializes in acrylic and pastel. Emory Dillon is the current title holder who won with “Winter’s Rest” in 2012. He is mostly self-taught and his artwork features delicate pencil drawings. Sina Ryburn took the top award in 2009 with “Clouds Over Lakeside Lagoon.” She taught art to children in Blue Springs for many years and works primarily in watercolor, pastel and acrylic.
    This historic show highlights IAA member artwork from 18 accomplished local artists: Jan Ransom-Balcom, Ron Balcom, Pat Pummill Betteridge, Roger Campbell, Channie Davis, Pat Deeter, Emory Dillon, Johnni Dowhower, Brian Hoover, Betty Key, Bette Kunkle, Nancy Mathis, Marcia Pugh, Sheila Rekdal, Sina Ryburn, Joyce Veazey, Eileen Wilcox and Carol Wilson. There will be over 55 pieces of artwork in a variety of media on display.
    The show is free and open to the public. The reception is Friday, June 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. where the winners will be recognized. Along with the art gallery, Vivilore offers a full restaurant, catering and a unique shopping experience. See www.vivilore.com for more information.
