  • The Fort Osage girls soccer team was in record-breaking form.
    Alli Ventresca scored four goals, LeighAnne Bartlett and Mercedes Marriott added two each and Marina Rios, Asten O’Neal and Sara Alter had one each as the Indians set a scoring record in an 11-1 Suburban Middle Seven victory over visiting North Kansas City Tuesday night.
    All of that happened after North KC took a 1-0 lead in the third minute. The Indians (9-6-1, 6-2 conference) led 7-1 at halftime. The game was stopped in the 60th minute because of the mercy rule.
    “After the first five minutes we played really well,” Fort Osage coach Andrew Fletcher said. “We finished our scoring chances really well.”
    BLUE SPRINGS 2, LEE’S SUMMIT 0: Shilah Rainey scored one goal and assisted on another to pace Blue Springs to the home Suburban Big Six victory Tuesday. MacKenzie Walls scored the other goal and Beka Lowery had an assist as the Wildcats improved to 7-5 and 4-4.
    LIBERTY 3, BLUE SPRINGS SOUTH 1: The Jaguars suffered a letdown Tuesday 24 hours after an emotional Senior Night win.
    Host Liberty tallied three first-half goals in Tuesday’s Suburban Big Six Conference match. Mollie Maupin scored the Jags’ only goal in the 58th minute on a free kick.
    “We didn’t play very well,” South coach Todd Findley said. “We had a nice, emotional Senior Night win last night and couldn’t match the same effort in the first half.”
    BELTON 3, TRUMAN 1: Belton scored all of its goals Tuesday in the first half in dropping the visiting Patriots to 1-14. Sandra Chiles scored the only Truman goal on a penalty kick.
    OAK PARK 4, WILLIAM CHRISMAN 0: A 3-0 halftime lead propelled visiting Oak Park to the Suburban Middle Seven victory Tuesday. The Bears dropped to 4-8 and 2-7.
    GRAIN VALLEY 10, OAK GROVE 0: Devan Fairfield, Nathalia Barr and Reighan Childers each scored two goals to pace the visiting Eagles (10-5, 4-1) to the Missouri River Valley Conference victory Tuesday.
    Maddie Gangl, Kali Carson, Miranda Burton and Bailey Christeson each added a goal for the Eagles, who led 6-0 at the half. Morgan Clark, Hannah Eades, Kiley Wagener and Sam Berg were each credited with an assist along with Barr, Childers and Fairfield.
    “We did a good job of keeping possession tonight to get another conference win,” Eagles coach Aleana Balistreri said.
