  • An Independence man was charged Wednesday in a child sex and domestic assault case.
Morgan L. Littleton, 31, who lived on East Cogan Road near Van Hook Park, was charged with four counts of first-degree statutory sodomy, two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and four counts of second-degree domestic assault.
According to Independence police, Littleton allegedly repeatedly sexually abused a 12-year-old daughter of one of the two women living at his residence.
The two women told police that Littleton assaulted them, allegedly slapping them and threatening to kill them and bury them in the backyard and slamming one against a wall. One victim told police Littleton choked and slapped her and slammed her against the wall for not putting sugar in his coffee at an Independence convenience store on April 29.
The mother of the child victim said she had discovered videos of Littleton having sex with her daughter, including one filmed at the Crossland Economy Suites hotel in Independence. The child had been sexually abused by Littleton since November 2012 and as late as April 28.
Littleton is being held on a $500,000 cash bond and the case remains under investigation by Independence police.
