Ineze Ruth Craig, 89, of Independence, Mo., passed away Tuesday morning, July 29, 2008.

Ineze was born June 5, 1919 in Independence to William D. and Una Louisa Moore. She was a quiet and strong willed woman who was dedicated to her family. All who knew her will miss Ineze.

She is survived by her brother and his wife, Ed and Louise Moore; six loving children and their spouses, Bill Jr. and Sally Craig, James D. and Linda Craig, John L. and Kathleen Craig, Eddie and Cheri Craig, Ruth (Craig) and Ed Deckard and Marilyn (Craig) and Randy Gifford; son-in-law and spouse, Gary and Gloria Stone; 26 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Her close friend Ed Chandler also survives her. Other than her parents her husband, William O. Craig, brother, William D. Moore and daughters, Louise (Craig) Stone and Mary Irene Craig preceded Ineze in death.

Ineze is a graduate of William Chrisman High School. She worked for Chrisman Sawyer Bank in Independence until her retirement in 1994. Ineze’s entire life revolved around her family, the church and friends. She was a lifelong member of Christ United Methodist Church, formerly Watson Memorial Church, where she was a member of the choir and loved to volunteer. She spent many years also volunteering with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America with both her children and grandchildren. Ineze was a wonderful woman, funny and dear, supportive and strong, she will be missed.

Visitation will be at Christ United Methodist Church of Independence, 14506 E 39th St., Independence, MO Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 10 am followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers Ineze wished for contributions to Christ United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
