  • Blue Springs police are still looking for a suspect who robbed a Blue Springs bank Saturday morning.
    The robbery happened around 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Bank MIdwest, 1100 N.W. South Outer Road.
    According to Blue Springs Police, the suspect handed a teller a note, but there were no weapons displayed during the robbery. No one was injured. This was the first of two attempted bank robberies in Jackson County Saturday morning. The second was less than one hour later at the Blue Ridge Bank and Trust in Raytown.
    The suspect is described as a black male, 6-foot-3 and between 250 and 300 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing and a blue bandana over his face. He ran from the bank with an unknown amount of cash and is believed to be driving a mid-2000s Ford Taurus, dark red or burgundy in color.
