We will soon embark on another exciting academic year in the Blue Springs School District. Our staff has worked diligently over the summer preparing to provide the best educational opportunities for every student in our district. In addition, we have been conducting careful analysis of our district and projecting future needs.

The growth in our school district will continue, as there are developments planned and houses being constructed in many areas within our boundaries. We continue to evaluate the impact of these developments in the southern and northern portions of our district.

These challenges bring with them great opportunities for advancement, and we are looking forward to expanding our district family to include prospective students.
To guide us in addressing the facility needs created by this growth and the passing of time, we rely on our Citizens’ Advisory Committee, a group of over 200 dedicated parents, patrons and staff.

Together we completed a comprehensive master plan that will serve as the blueprint which will lead us into the next decade. The steering committee of the CAC has identified the goals that guide us. These include improving our current high school facilities and addressing the impending growth and capacity issues at the elementary level. The steering committee has identified buildings that require upgrades to raise them to the high standards we hold for all our educational environments.

High standards extend beyond facilities to every aspect of our organization. We hold our staff and students to the utmost standard and they continually meet and exceed our expectations. In the spring of this year, our seniors received over $7 million in scholarships to further their educational careers. Students across our district demonstrate in the classroom, on the playing field and in our community a dedication to learning and a desire to influence their world in a positive way.

Our staff stays informed on the most current educational practices and continues to shine in the classroom. Many of our more than 1,000 certified faculty members serve as trainers for local, regional and even national programs.

This commitment and our community’s support is the reason our district is one of only eight in the state to have 7 years of perfect scores on the Annual Performance Report from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Our district and community have many reasons to be proud and expect even greater things in our future!
