  • Schwaller: Tips and tricks for keeping brows in check

  • One of the most important – and probably the most overlooked – grooming techniques is shaping the brow. Bushy eyebrows will make your eyes look smaller while well-shaped brows can open up the eye area. Brows that are too thin can make you look surprised.

For those of you who are interested in a very simple shaping lesson here are some of my favorite tips:
Your eyebrow should begin at the inside corner of your eye, in line with the outer edge of your nostril. If you take a pencil and line it up along your nose and the corner of your eye, you can see if your brow extents past that area into the middle. All of the excess hair should be removed.
The arch, or the highest part of your brow, should line up with the outer corner of the iris. Line up a pencil along with the outer edge of the iris while you are looking straight ahead.
The end of your brow can be found if you extend the pencil at an angle from the outside corner of the nose to the outside edge of the eye. If there is simply not hair where you need it, you can fill in with a brow pencil. Use small, feathery strokes. Sharp, hard lines will not result in a natural look.
There may be some of you that have brows that need taming. Use a little bit of non-aerosol hairspray on an empty mascara wand and brush them into shape. Remember, a little goes a long way.
If your brows are too light in color, they can simply be tinted, as well as your eyelashes. The process takes about 20 minutes and is painless, of course.
Gentleman, please don’t forget your brows. I always say, the caveman look is way out of style. There is also no need to have “girly” brows. Having a bit of hair removed between the eyes and a under the actual brow will simulate two brows instead of one!
    Have a beautiful day.
