The Independence Council of Beta Sigma Phi recently gave a monetary donation  to the Community Services League to help with the growing number of families who have had to seek assistance in the past few months. Director Pat Weary said she had never seen so many first time applicants, many who aren’t aware of help they can receive.

The pantry at the league is running low on food as well as items needed for the Christmas store, which will be open for a week in December to allow families in need to shop. The League is also seeking volunteers to assist in sorting donations and setting up and running the Christmas store. If you have time you can give, please call 325-7000 and ask for Community Services League. They are also accepting donations of money, food, clothing, coats and Christmas gifts. If each person reading this gave one gift or a few dollars, they would be in great shape going into this busy season.
