  • Subway robbery suspects charged

  • Four suspects have been charged with armed robberies of Independence Subway restaurants.
    Jackson County prosecutors have charged Zachary K. Tigue, 18, Kansas City; Caleb S. Anderson, 17, Raytown; Marc K. Kindred, 23, Kansas City; and Jamal W. Redd, 19, Kansas City.
    Tigue is accused of robbing the Subway at 1415 W. 23rd St. in Independence on Oct. 21 and the shop at 1509 S. Noland Road on Nov. 12.
    For these robberies, prosecutors charged him with two counts of first-degree armed robbery and two of armed criminal action for one of the robberies and one count each of first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.
    He is being detained at the Jackson County Detention Center on $150,000 cash only bond.
    Anderson was also allegedly involved in the 23rd Street robbery and was charged with two counts of first degree armed robbery and two of armed criminal action. His bond was set at $150,000 cash only.
    Kindred was charged in connection with the Noland Road Subway robbery and charge with two counts first-degree robbery and two counts armed criminal action, and bond was set at $150,000 cash only.
    Redd was charged with two counts of first-degree armed robbery and two counts of armed criminal action in connection with the 23rd Street robbery.
    The four men all confessed to the crimes, according to police officials.
    More charges could be filed later¬ and additional suspects could be charged as Independence police detectives continue the investigation into the string of armed robberies at Subways and other businesses in the city, according to police.
