  • The William Chrisman baseballl team was down but not out Tuesday.
The Bears trailed Raytown by eight runs entering the bottom of the sixth and had just one hit. But then they exploded for seven runs on six hits and two hits and tacked on two more in the bottom of the seventh to pull out a 9-8 Suburban Middle Seven Conference win.
Gannon Ogle smacked a three-run double in the sixth and the two seventh-inning runs scored on fielder’s choice groundouts.
“I was proud of our guys,” Chrisman coach J.R. Wells said. “They continued to battle.”
Jerry Snow allowed one unearned run in pitching the final 4 1/3 innings for the victory.
“He threw strikes,” Wells said. “It was a big conference win for us.”
Cody Jackson singled twice with three RBIs to power the Bears (3-3, 1-2).
