Jake Lockridge and Nathan Donnelly each had a pair of hits and Shaquille Theus drew two walks and scored two runs, but the Rebels couldn't overcome a three-run homer by the Cubs' Robby Hendricks and two hits and four RBIs by Gabe Jones in the five-inning loss.

In Thursday’s other game, the Kiwanis League’s Building Champions beat the RA Rebels 5-2. Tyler LaPlante pitched a complete game, allowing just five hits and striking out four. Nick Johnson had two hits and an RBI to lead Building Champions.
