Postponed a scheduled public hearing for Bobby Lee’s Place liquor license revocation until the March 23 board of aldermen meeting.


According to a city memorandum dated Dec. 16, 2008, on Dec. 12, 2008, police officials were dispatched to Bobby Lee’s Place at 206 E. Harris St. in reference to people inside the bar who were drinking alcohol after hours. Robert Latall was issued a citation for being the proprietor of the bar, and it was his third documented violation of the Grain Valley liquor ordinance in 2008, according to the memorandum.

Latall’s counsel was unable to attend Monday night’s meeting, which resulted in postponing the hearing.

Approved an ordinance that authorizes the mayor to enter into an employment agreement with City Administrator Gary Bradley. City officials met behind closed doors for more than one hour before approving the agreement in open session.


The agreement will renew Bradley’s contract for one year with a $90,000 salary. He has served as the city’s administrator since December 2005.

Approved the second reading and adopted an ordinance for an agreement with Tyler Technologies Inc. for a municipal court software program. According to a the ordinance, the board adopted the 2009 budget that appropriated funds for its purchase at $10,120.

 

Approved the second reading and adopted an ordinance that amends the additional court costs of the Grain Valley municipal code. According to a city memorandum, the state of Missouri has not collected these funds for several years and it is merely “a housekeeping bill.”


The amendment includes deleting the alcohol-related offenses and motorcycle safety trust fund paragraphs from the Grain Valley municipal code.

Approved the first reading of an ordinance that would authorize the city administrator to purchase a GMC 5500 truck from Westfall GMC.

 

Approved the first reading of an ordinance that would authorize the city administrator to purchase a John Deere 7130 tractor with boom mower.

 

Approved a resolution that authorizes the installation of downtown improvement Phase 2 street lights.

 

Approved a resolution that authorizes the installation of a streetlight at the northwest corner of Dillingham and Duncan roads.
