Timothy Lutheran open house in March

Timothy Lutheran School K-8 is having an open house with kindergarten screening next month. The event is from 1:30 to 7 p.m. March 22 at Timothy Lutheran School, 301 S.W. Wyatt Road in Blue Springs. Lee’s Summit staff to stop all and read

Thousands of students and staff members in the Lee’s Summit School District are expected to participate in the third annual Lee’s Summit Reads, sponsored by the Lee’s Summit Reading Council.

Through this event, citizens throughout the community are encouraged to set aside 20 minutes during the morning to read on Tuesday, preferably between 10 and 10:20 a.m.

Lee’s Summit School District staff members and students are participating in the special event as well as area businesses and individuals.

The Lee’s Summit Reading Council is a chapter of the International Reading Association and is one of Missouri’s largest and most active chapters. Several of the chapter’s members are educators within the Lee’s Summit district.

Nativity rummage sale to be in April

Nativity of Mary Parish is holding its annual Rummage Sale in April.

The sale will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 6 to 10. The only exception is April 10, when the hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Community members are encouraged to browse and see what treasures are available.

The weekend prior to the sale, items can be viewed at www.craigslist.org.
