  • After a rocky first half, the Blue Springs girls basketball team rolled to a 62-39 victory over Ruskin on Wednesday night.
The Jaguars (6-2) trailed 15-14 after the opening quarter at Blue Springs South High School and coach Brad Oyler said his squad settled for far too many outside jumpers in the second even though the Jags opened up a 26-20 lead.
Their effort improved significantly in the third quarter though, and the margin swelled to 42-26.
“Our intensity picked up in the third quarter and we started attacking the basket,” Oyler said. “That’s when we got on a roll. Our intensity picked up both offensively and defensively.”
Remy Davenport paced South with 15 points. Cloe Lane scored 12, Stevie Anderson added 11 and Brooke Neal chipped in with 10.
