Rain and thunderstorms could start after midnight but are more likely during the day and then evening Tuesday.

The National Weather Service says the chance of rain late tonight is 30 percent. It won’t snow, as the low is expected to be 39. Tuesday looks rainy and rumbly, with an 80 percent chance of rain. Thunderstorms could accompany the rain, and those are more likely in the afternoon. Total rainfall is expected to be one-tenth to one-quarter inch but more in the areas hit by thunderstorms. It will be windy – with gusts up to 26 mph – and the high is expected to be 58.

The chance of rain the evening is still 50 percent, after which it begins to clear off. No more precipatation is in the forecast for the rest of the week.
