Nowadays, as Christmas comes about, much shopping is done to portray the spirit of the season. Much money is spent, some above reason per household.

What is the true meaning of Christmas? It isn’t presents, the glitter of lights, the ads on TV and the many additives the folk go for.

Two thousand years ago, a babe was born in a manger on a bed of hay, and in this place were cattle about. The babe’s name was called “Jesus” and the father, Joseph, was present. Only gold, frankincense and myrrh were then presented as gifts, for a Savior was born.

Christmas is very much commercialized, which cancels the true meaning of Christmas, Christ’s birthday. The song says, “O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.”

Happy Birthday, Jesus!
