Ruby Catherine (Gorham) Graham, age 85, Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, Missouri.

Ruby Catherine (Gorham) Graham, age 85, Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, Missouri.

Ruby was born on December 13, 1925, to William Finus and Emma (Smith) Gorham in Ray County, Missouri. She was married to Gordon Elmer Watts, he preceded her in death. She later married Robert H. Graham who also preceded her in death.  Ruby attended school in Bogard, Missouri. She lived in Carroll County most of her life. Ruby was employed at Banquet Foods, and then received her Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certifications and worked at the State School in Marshall, Missouri.  She also performed private duty nursing for patients in Carroll County, Missouri.  Ruby was a member of the Mandeville United Methodist Church. Ruby enjoyed reading, gardening, listening to country music, and seeing her grandchildren. She was a talented guitar player and vocalist, and in her younger days performed in a local band.

Ruby is survived by her two sons; Gordon Watts of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and Douglas Watts and wife, Janet, of Blue Springs, Missouri; five granddaughters, Tamara, Jennifer, Kelli, Molly, and Cindi; five great-grandchildren, Melissa, Landon, Harrison, Brigham and Grayson; and one great-great-grandson, Maxwell; one brother Carl Joseph Thomasson, and wife Marion of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; one nephew, Brett Thomasson, Oklahoma, and one niece, Ann Thomasson, Kansas City, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law, Paula (Macoubrie) Watts, and great-granddaughter, Michelle (Banning) Caton.

A Celebration of Ruby’s Life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 1, 2011, at the Bittiker Funeral Home, 1201 North 65 Highway, Carrollton, MO, with Reverend Jeremy Payne officiating. Burial will be in Braden Cemetery, Coloma, Missouri.
