  • Alice May Schaefer Geiersbach passed into the loving arms of her heavenly Father Friday at her home, in Oak Grove, Mo surrounded by her family.
    Alice was born in Essexville, Michigan at home on June 17, 1930, the third of twelve children born to Joseph and Mabel Schaefer. At the age of 17, she married Edwin Geiersbach of Saginaw, Mi. on April 10, 1948. Alice worked 6 years at Severance Tool Co. in Saginaw before starting her family consisting of 6 children. Alice was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mabel Schaefer, brothers Joseph, Jr., Bertram and Hubert; sisters Lila Gusack and Ursula Reou; and a son, Alan.
    Surviving family members are sis ters Cecelia (Armond) Beiser, Luella (Richard) Walther, Shirley Schaefer; brothers Harmond (Sandy) Schaefer, Alfred (Madelyn) Schaefer, Eugene (Pam) Schaefer; brothers –in-law James Reou, James Gusack; sisters in-law Elaine Klein and Virginia Schaefer; Her husband of 60 years Edwin Geiersbach, children Cheryl (Dennis) Boyd of Owasso, OK, Keith Geiersbach of Oak Grove, Mo., Wayne (Ima) Geiersbach of Oak Grove, MO, Paul (JoAli ce) of O’Fallon, MO, Cindy Geiersbach of Lone Jack, MO; grandchildren Rachel (James) Jones, Michelle Boyd, Matthew Geiersbach, Aaron Geiersbach, Jacob Geiersbach, Aimee Nelson, Laura Geiersbach, great grandson Christopher Nelson and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends.
    Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at The Restoration Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 919 Delaware, Independence, MO. Visitation will be Sunday at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements, Marts Memorial Services (816) 561-8181.
