  • With temperatures cooling off, it's time to start thinking about preparations for next year's gardening season.
    The Independence Community Garden Association, in partnership with staff members from the Kansas City Community Gardens, is hosting one more upcoming class for free to the public.
    From 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Independence Health Department, 515 S. Liberty St., a class will take place on putting your garden to bed/fall preparation.
