The Independence Jerry’s Bears had a tough go of it Wednesday night, losing a American Legion Zone 2 West doubleheader against Parkville Post 318 at the Independence Athletic Complex.

The Bears lost 6-1 and 15-2, but got two hits from starting pitcher Houston Richards in the 6-1 loss and two hits each from Rob Brockman and Dakota Knight in the 15-2 setback.

The sweep dropped the Bears to 3-14 overall and 1-9 in Zone 2 West play.

RAYTOWN POST 596 11-7, LEE’S SUMMIT POST 189 AUXILIARY OUTLAWS 5-17: The two teams split a pair of Zone 2 West games at Raytown. Ryan Lindsay was the winning pitcher for Raytown in the first game and Tyler Nash suffered the lost in the second game.
