Bumper is a 4-year-old border collie mix who needs a good home. He was rescued from the Independence Animal Shelter two years ago. Bumper’s original owners gave him up because he jumped the fence. This perplexes volunteers because Bumper is such a sweet boy and has such a great disposition. Any good dog that is left alone out of doors too long can get bored and jump a fence.

Apparently someone thought enough of Bumper to work with him, because he seems to be trained.  Bumper is a smart boy who knows sit, shake and off. He walks well on a lead and seems to be housebroken. Bumper acquired his unusual name from his prior owners who called him “Bumper the jumper.”

Bumper loves people and adores attention. He likes other dogs but wants to chase cats. He would make a great family dog or a good companion for an active single person. If you are looking for a great dog to join your family and think that Bumper might be a good fit, go to www.animalsbestfriends.org and complete an application.
