The Jackson County Legislature met Monday, Nov. 24 2008, at the Kansas City legislative assembly area at the Kansas City Courthouse, 415 E. 12th St.
A contract for the furnishing and five-year lease and purchase financing of a backhoe and a reclaimer for the Public Works Department to Murphy Tractor of Kansas City and Baystone Financial Group of Manhattan, Kan. The actual cost to the county in 2008 is $156,000 and a total five-year cost of $713,574.
The purchase of two mail extraction and scanning machines for use by the Collections Department from Opex Corporation of Moorestown, N.J., at a cost to the county not to exceed $179,190.
A contract for dump bodies, hydraulics, snow plows and spreaders for use by the Public Works Department to American Equipment of Kansas City, Kan., at a cost to the county not to exceed $203,536.
Appropriating $15,087 from the 2008 grant fund to authorize the extension of the Coordinated Community Response to Domestic Violence grant funded by the U.S. Department of Justice.
