Action taken at the Nov. 24, 2008, meeting.

The Blue Springs Planning Commission meets the second and fourth Monday of the month. The commission met Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, and took the following action (unanimous unless otherwise noted):



Approved a planned unit development final plan for one lot of 2.18 acres for Lake Ridge Village, a mixed use development for office and commercial business. The developer is working with possible tenants for the building.
Approved site plans and design reviews for both the Adams Dairy Landing lifestyle center and area one shops.The lifestyle center component drew the most attention Monday night. Located near the center of the complex and moving toward what are called “in-line stores,” it will be a pedestrian-oriented area with walkways, landscaping and some art work.“This is the one piece of the project I was looking forward to the most,” Ken Billups Jr., commission member, said.The area one shops, keeping with their Mediterranean style design and architecture, include Target and Lowe’s. In addition, spokespersons for the developer said Monday that designs have been created for open area restaurants, or outside seating areas, as well as fountains on the property.
Denied an amendment to a site plan/design review for Blue Springs Ford.An engineer for the dealership approached the commission Monday regarding the project, which was originally passed by the commission in February as a vehicle display lot but has since become a parking lot, constructed without permits and inspections.
