Lowell Irvin Williamson, 71 passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at his home in Weaubleau, MO of cancer. Lowell was born August 12, 1937 in Bates City, MO. He lived in around the Kansas City area all of his life before moving to Weaubleau.
Lowell served in the U. S. Army and was stationed at Brady Air Base in Kyushu, Japan. He earned the Good Conduct Medal. After his discharge he served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of the Blue Springs American Legion Post #499.
Lowell worked for Sears, Dean Machinery, and retired from Clarkson Construction Company in 1997 after 23 years. After retiring, his passions were working with wood, cutting wood, mowing grass, hunting and visiting his family and friends.
Lowell was preceded in death by his parents Robert Eugene (Gene) Williamson Sr. and Willey T. Roemmich Williamson, sisters Eugenia (Jean) Stewart, Ellyn Shirley, and brother Robert (Bob) Eugene Williamson Jr. He is survived by his loving companion of 14 years Ruby Ball, daughter Paula Free Hatchett of Michigan, sister Pat R. Bliss of Blue Springs, MO, 4 nieces and 4 nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Services will be Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Royer-Hays Funeral Home, 17th & Walnut, Blue Springs. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:30 am; Funeral service at 11:30 am with burial following at Mecklin Cemetery, Oak Grove.
Lowell was a loving, kind, and generous man who was admired and loved by all who knew him. His passing leaves us saddened, yet ever thankful that he was part of our lives.
