  • Grain Valley Police continue to look for the Blue Springs man who is a “person of interest” in the shooting of his estranged girlfriend in Grain Valley Tuesday.
Police Chief Aaron Ambrose said there have been no substantial new leads, and that the woman remains in critical condition.
Police are seeking Alan Duane Lovelace, 36, a Blue Springs resident. Ambrose said Lovelace is 5-foot-10, 170 to 190 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He has a tattoo on an arm that that says “Lovelace.” Ambrose said police believe he is driving the victim’s vehicle, a 2002 “gold or silver” Chevrolet Venture minivan with Missouri license plate number MG4-LOB.
The Oak Grove woman was leaving work at OOIDA – the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association – about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday when she was shot in the parking lot.
Ambrose said Lovelace should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone with information is asked to call 911, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office at 816-524-4302 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-874-TIPS (8477).
