Fazoli’s plans to double its presence in the Kansas City area.
The quick-service Italian food chain already has restaurants in Independence, Blue Springs and Lee’s Summit, plus three on the Kansas side of the state line, and it plans to add seven more locations.
It has also just wrapped up what it called an extreme makeover of its area restaurants and made changes that include a revamped menu, meals delivered to the table, and real plates, silverware and glassware – not Styrofoam, plastic and paper.

The Eastern Jackson County Development Alliance plans to hold a career expo.
It is from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 7 in a storefront at the The Pavilions at the Hartman Heritage development on Jackson Drive in Independence. The cost to participate is $15 without a table cover (bring your own) or $25 with a table cover.
