Herbert Leslie Strack, 78, of Grain Valley, Mo., passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at the Missouri Veteran’s Home, Warrensburg, MO. 

 Herbert Leslie Strack, 78, of Grain Valley, Mo., passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at the Missouri Veteran’s Home, Warrensburg, MO. 
 Herb was born on April 29, 1930, in Truxton, Missouri, son of Everett L. and Elsie B. (Hensiek) Strack. He served in the United States Army and deployed in Korea. He married Mary Jane Kelsick on November 27, 1954. Herb was an engineer in circuit design for AT&T, retiring in 1988 after 33 years. He worked at the Grain Valley Airport for 20 years  He was a member of the Grain Valley United Methodist Church.  He was a leader for Boy Scout Troops 253 & 310 and was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.
 His survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary Jane Strack of the home; two sons: Gary Strack & his wife Gayla, of Raymore, MO, & Daniel Strack & his wife Angela, of Grain Valley, Mo.; one daughter: Susan Seelinger & her husband Shelby, of Warrensburg, Mo.; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; one brother: Raymond Strack & his wife Vera, of Jonesburg, Mo.; one brother-in-law: Ralph Kelsick Jr. & his wife Charlene, of Doniphan; many cousins, nieces & nephews; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, Mo.; burial in Perdee Cemetery, Grain Valley. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Crossroads Hospice of Kansas City, Alzheimer’s Association, or Parkinson Foundation of the Heartland.
