The brief, heavy storm that rolled through the metro area Thursday evening around sundown might not be the last the rain for a while.

The National Weather Service says there’s a slight chance of thundershowers after 4 a.m. That lingers into the rest of the morning, with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. The high is expected to be 87.

The weekend looks warm and sunny, with highs of 93 Saturday and 90 Sunday. There’s a 40 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms on Monday.

Some severe weather moved across northern Missouri late Thursday afternoon and evening, with several reports of 1-inch hail in Harrison and Mercer counties, both on the Iowa border, between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Shortly after 7 p.m., nickel- to quarter-sized hail was reported at Weatherby Lake in Platte County.
