What advice do you have for next year’s freshmen?
It is so important to start studying hard from the beginning and try your best, but the biggest thing is to stay true to yourself. It is easy to lose your way in high school.

Who was your favorite teacher and why?
My favorite teacher was Leslie Baker. She taught me that it’s cool to be smart.

When you were not in school or studying, what did you enjoy doing?
I love taking camping trips with my family. It was a great way to de-stress and enjoy what is around you. You can lose sight of what is important at the end of the day when you work so hard all of the time.

What college do you plan to attend and why?
The University of Missouri-Kansas City. It has the most to offer for the cost, and it is close to home.

What do you see yourself doing 10 years from now?
I will be teaching elementary students in a small beach town and married to my high school sweetheart. I hope to have two kids by then.
