The Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce has awarded four $1,000 scholarships to area high school seniors.

The Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce has awarded four $1,000 scholarships to area high school seniors.


One scholarship winner is selected from each of the three Lee’s Summit high schools, and one is selected from a school outside of the district. One parent of each recipient must be a full-time employee of a chamber member business.


This year more than 70 applications were received. Applicants are evaluated based on the following criteria - a strong work ethic, a commitment to community involvement and an endless pursuit of continued growth and improvement in all facets of their lives.


The following students received the chamber scholarships:


Meredith Morris, Blue Springs South


Patrick Graham, Lee’s Summit North


Ashlyn Black, Lee’s Summit High School


Lauren Gaunt, Lee’s Summit West
