  • Because of the inclement weather today, the Cancer Battler Cup IV events scheduled for tonight has been rescheduled for May 6 and the game between the Blue Springs and Blue Springs South girls soccer teams has been postponed with a makeup date yet to be announced.
On Monday, Sporting Kansas City’s Aurelien Collin and Lawrence Olum and players from Kansas City’s new professional women’s team, FC Kansas City, will greet fans from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

In addition, youth soccer players (free admission with uniform on) can participate in soccer skills contests for a $1 or $2 donation to the Cancer Battler Cup’s benefactor, the Jennifer Ireland Foundation (www.jif4families.com) during the battle on the field between the Blue Springs girls and Platte County.

A silent auction will occur with over 30 items available from a variety of businesses throughout Eastern Jackson County, as well as Sporting KC and FC Kansas City.

No training space for local club teams will be available on the rescheduled night, though, and the halftime game between local club coaches and Blue Springs/Blue Springs South alumni will not take place.
