Mae Evelyn Brumley, 86, of Oak Grove, Mo., passed away Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Oak Grove Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Mae was born May 10, 1922 in Iberia, Mo., the daughter of Bennett and Rhoda (Duncan) Shelton. She married Gail Brumley in 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1993. Mrs. Brumley worked as a nurse’s aide for many years. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mae was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a hard worker and she dearly loved her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

 Also preceding Mrs. Brumley in death were eleven siblings; a daughter, Wilda VanHerke; a son, Wyman Brumley; and a son-in-law, Dr. Jerry Howard.

Her survivors include one son, Jack Brumley and wife Melinda of Oak Grove; three daughters, Jerry Varner and husband Tom of Stillwater, Okla., Peggy Howard of Napoleon, Mo., and Rita Robinson and husband Jesse of Bates City, Mo.; a daughter-in-law: Margaret Brumley of Diamond City, Ark.; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 4th at Mountain Union Church of Christ, Brumley, Mo. Burial following in Mountain Union Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Royer Funeral Home, 816-690-4441.
