To the editor:
Thanks to the excellent work of the Independence administration, the Crackerneck development is coming alive.
First, the announcement of the planned Stoney Creek Inn. This hotel will greatly complement the existing businesses and the park-like setting. Then on the heels of the first announcement, the Pizza Ranch is to join the area.
Going forward, this area is bound to be very attractive to other businesses as foreseen by the administration.
I wrote a letter to the editor on March 29 (“Wait for Bass Pro to pay off”) suggesting a solution to the police tax issue might be just to wait awhile. As the economy improved, the Crackerneck development would come alive and lots of money would be available for additional police or whatever. In my wildest dreams did I expect such an immediate happening.
This revelation is proof that the administration has been hard at work bringing this about. They are to be congratulated in this endeavor.
