Orville left his earthly world on Thursday morning, May 24, 2012, in Lee’s Summit, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou, in 2007. In his last few days on earth, Orville pondered the lasting memories of vacations to Colorado with family, and sporting events at his grandson’s High School Football and Baseball games, which he couldn’t wait for. A member of Christ United Methodist Church for many years, going to church every Sunday was a great way to finish his week, he would say. Orville’s Tuesday morning Bible studies with best friends and eating breakfast at Denny’s was a big highlight of his week. So many friends through the years that he and Mary Lou had made. Orville and family appreciate all of the friends and families they have made over the years and at this time of sorrow.

Orville is survived by two children, Julie Adams Carter (Alan) of Fargo, N.D., and Tom Adams (Penny) of Independence, Mo.; four grandchildren, Jeremy Carter (Susan) of Colorado, along with Ashley, Tyler and Connor Adams of Independence, Mo.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at Christ United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 1, at the church; with burial at Mount Washington Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Orville requested donations to the church or the American Diabetes Association.
