James M. Stauts, 72, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at NorthCare Hospice in Kansas City.

James M. Stauts, 72, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at NorthCare Hospice in Kansas City.

Jim was born in Los Angeles, Calif. He lived in Southern California all of his life until 2002, when he moved to the Midwest. He was a graduate of Graceland College and California State University-Fullerton. He worked in aerospace, sales and managed the R.L.D.S. conference center in Idyllwild, Calif., for 17 years. He held a general contracting license and had his own construction business. He was an Elder and a lifelong member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter, Teri Woody (David); grandchildren, Beth and Ben Woody, Missouri; son, Matt Stauts (Jenny), California; sisters, Dolly King (Dean), Texas, and Ena Sears (Gordon), Missouri; brother and sister-in-law, Roni and Dick Booth, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Mission Woods Community of Christ in Blue Springs, Mo.
