Grain Valley tennis had little trouble dispatching Richmond on Friday.

The Eagles won 9-0 with the closest match of the game coming at No. 1 singles.

Katelyn Barr defeated Richmond’s Brittany Munson 8-3. The rest of the singles matches were won 8-1 or 8-0.

Grain Valley coach Randy Draper said it was a solid win for his team.

“They (Richmond) were 9-1 coming in,” he said. “This helps with seeding in our conference. We’ve just got to keep our foot on the gas.”

The Eagles improve to 8-2 on the season.

Grain Valley won its only junior varsity match.
