A downtown town hall meeting will be held on Jan. 23 for the newly formed Downtown Alive group.

The meeting, which will be held from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Student Life Center at 1301 W. Main St., is the first for the group and is meant to gather input from city residents about what they want to see more of in the downtown corridor.

Kim Nakahodo, city spokesperson, said the event will be facilitated by the Missouri Main Street Connection, a state-operated nonprofit group that provides technical assistance and training to revitalize downtowns in the context of historical preservation.

The forum will include a PowerPoint presentation that will educate the community about the revitalization effort, and a breakout session where committee members and the public will brainstorm goals and projects for the upcoming year.
