Two individuals are trying to unseat incumbent Rep. Bryan Pratt to serve the 55th District in the Missouri House of Representatives.

However, when looking at campaign finance reports filed with the Missouri Ethics Commission, Pratt, R-Blue Springs, has a substantial lead in fundraising over the other two candidates.

Pratt is running against Democrat Mike’Donnell and Libertarian Kevin Parr. The election is Nov. 4.

According to  eight-day before election reports filed Oct. 27, Pratt had $85,213.94 on hand at the beginning of the reporting period, which began Oct. 1. He raised $34,450 during October and spent $49,819.09, mainly on advertising, mailings and postage.

In comparison, O’Donnell has raised $5,232.39 during the course of the election cycle. A majority of the funds, $3,551.39, are in the form of loans made to himself.

Of that, he has spent $3,769.83. The majority, like his opponent, was spent on mailings, postage and advertising.

Parr filed for an exemption with the Ethics Commission certifying that neither the amount of contributions received nor the amount of expenditures will exceed $500. Because of the exemption, he was not required to complete a full financial disclosure report and has no contributions or expenditures to report.

Here are the donations made to Pratt and O’Donnell. The donations go back to the July quarterly report filed by each candidate.
