Lee's Summit North football team advances to postseason for first time in school history
Lee’s Summit North made history Thursday.
Quincy Williams rushed 12 times for 212 yards and three touchdowns and caught two passes for 53 yards and one score in leading host Lee’s Summit North past Lee’s Summit and into the playoffs for the first time. Two fourth-quarter touchdowns clinched the Suburban Big Seven and Class 6 District 7 win for the Broncos (4-6 overall, 2-4 conference, 2-1 district). North also defeated the Tigers for the ninth time in 13 meetings.
Williams had scoring runs of 72, 2 and 11 yards and caught a 50-yard TD pass from Donny Herron.
Herron scored on runs of 8 and 4 yards and finished with 80 yards on 14 carries. He and Williams also had a two-point conversion run.
Corbin Berkstresser ran 5 yards for one touchdown and passed 6 yards to David Gerke and 81 yards to Laron Harley for scores in leading Lee’s Summit (2-8, 1-5, 0-3).

The Titans secured a berth in the playoffs for the fifth consecutive year with an easy Class 5 District 8 victory at Springfield Central Thursday.
West (7-3 o verall, 2-1 district) will play an opponent to be determined in the first round of the playoffs Wednesday.
