Gil Wright, 60, of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2008.

Gil was born on Oct. 5, 1947 in Kansas City, Mo. In 1957 he went to live at the Drumm Farm Institute for boys in Independence. In 1965 he joined the Marine Corps and served his country for two years.

He was the past owner of Wright & Sons Fence Co. and Main Street Video in Blue Springs. He was also employed at the Lake City Ammunition Plant for the last several years.

His survivors include two sons, Eric (Sheila) Wright of Grain Valley, and Christian (Courtney) Wright of Independence; one daughter, Lisa (Tim) Banner of Blue Springs; grandson, Dusty Banner of Blue Springs; step-grandson, Spencer Hill of Grain Valley.

The family would like to thank Western Missouri Medical Center and Ridge Crest Nursing Center for all their care and support.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 1, at 1 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Chapel, Blue Springs, 816-229-3276. Graveside services will follow at Lobb Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Drumm Farm, 3210 Lee’s Summit Road, Independence, Mo.
