The Jackson County Family Week is a program that aims to bring families together through hectic schedules of busy lives.

The community-wide celebration is held annually during the third week of April. This year, Family Week was the week of April 20-26.

The activities of the week are made possible through a committee of more than 100 volunteers. The activities this year included a scavenger hunt, a photo exhibit and a “Family Time” contest.

The scavenger hunt consists of participants receiving a list of eight area parks with questions related to things in each park. The entries turned in by the deadline were entered into a grand prize drawing.

The photo exhibit consisted of families capturing a time when the family spent time together. The photos were entered into a Family Week prize drawing.

The “Family Time” contest was one where the families completed a coupon for spending an hour of time together. The coupons could be spent to enter drawings at various businesses.
