Joy D. Holmes Brown of Raytown, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Nov. 20th at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Joy D. Holmes Brown of Raytown, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Nov. 20th at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Joy was a wonderful mother of two children and a proud grandma ‘Bubble’ of three grandchildren. Joy was known for her contagious smile and unconditional generosity, which included donating her organs to Heartland Lions. During her year-long battle with cancer she showed remarkable strength, courage, humor, and optimism. Her bright smile never left her face. She enjoyed travel, baking, tending to her many plants, her beloved dog Henri, and having fun with her friends.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lara and John Stanze; son and daughter-in-law, Erick and Jenn Gomer; grandchildren, Josh, Jessica, and Maddie Stanze; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Nancy Holmes; brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Julie Holmes; brother, Randy Holmes; and boyfriend, Bob Viets.
