Dr. Donald E. Winckler, 90, of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Dr. Donald E. Winckler, 90, of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.


Funeral services for Donald will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at Timothy Lutheran Church, 425 N.W. R.D. Mize Road, Blue Springs, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Floral Hills Cemetery in Raytown, Mo. Contributions in memory of Donald may be made to Timothy Lutheran Church.


Donald was born September 4, 1922, in Harrold, S.D., to Jacob and Magdelina (Stiefel) Winckler. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. On October 13, 1944, he was united in marriage to Arlene Lohr and she survives of the home. He was a Chiropractor and owned Winckler Chiropractic. Donald was a member of Timothy Lutheran Church and at one time had attended Peace Lutheran Church, where he held several offices in the church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, 9 brothers and 6 sisters.


In addition to his wife, Arlene, he is survived by a sister, Naomi Meyer of Harrold, S.D.; his son, Gary Winckler and his wife, Marianne, of Blue Springs, Mo.; daughter, Judy Walton and husband, Ron, of Johnson City, Tenn.; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
