Keith Peace James, 71, of Buckner, Mo., passed away in his home on May 22, 2010.

Keith was born July 1, 1938, to Julius Peace James and Fannie Leotta (Dudgeon) James on the family farm in Sibley, Mo.

Keith spent his younger years helping to raise his brother Ronald and running the family farm after their father died in 1957.  He graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1956. Keith went on to college and earned his teaching degree.  He worked for Allis Chalmers for many years where he met his wife Donna (Young) of 44 years.  Keith later became the small engines teacher for the Fort Osage Vo-tech, where he retired from after 28 years of teaching.  He was a well loved teacher.  Even though Keith became a teacher he never stopped farming while raising two sons, Patrick and Todd.  He enjoyed not only farming, but growing a garden as well.  In his final days he commented that he needed to get out and plant a garden with his grandchildren.  Keith also loved collecting Farmall tractors with his son Todd and spending his extra time watching his grandchildren play or gazing across the pasture talking about the good ole days.

Keith is survived by his son Todd and wife Autumn of Buckner, Mo., and six grandchildren: Andrea, Sara, Krista, Matthew, Preston, and Jordyn James.

Keith was predeceased in death by his parents “Peace” and “Leotta” James, wife Donna, son Patrick and brother “Ronnie.”
