  • The Blue Springs girls swimming and diving team won six of 12 events but fell 192-123 to St. Teresa’s Academy Saturday at the Centennial Pool-Plex.

  • The Blue Springs girls swimming and diving team won six of 12 events but fell 192-123 to St. Teresa’s Academy Saturday at the Centennial Pool-Plex.
    Lindsey Meyer, Ashley Sturman and Corinne Rinne led the Wildcats with a win and a second-place finish each. Meyer won the 100-yard freestyle in 58.35 seconds and took second in the 100 backstroke in 1 minute, 8.86 seconds. Sturman won 100 butterfly in a state-qualifying time of 1:01.97 and took second to teammate Corinne Rinne (1:11.17) in the 100 breaststroke (1:16.67). Rinne also took second in the 50 freestyle (27.42).
    The Wildcats also won the 200 medley (2:00.30) and 200 freestyle (1:48.67) relays and Mariah Hagerty took first in diving with 201.10 points.
    Haley Baldwin (200 freestyle, 100 backstroke) and Rose Hutchinson (200 IM, 500 freestyle) led St. Teresa’s with a pair of wins each.
