  • Join St. Peter United Methodist Church in Blue Springs on June 15 and work together in the morning and party together in the evening. Families can participate in about seven opportunities to help the Blue Springs community. This is a community wide celebration.
"Everything from dog shows and the City's Kid's Triathlon to a free car wash and planting flowers at Vesper Hall, we will be helping to collect dry goods at Price Chopper and showing how much we appreciate our emergency response teams" said Outreach Cordinator Robert Buell. "These are just a few of the opportunities we are undertaking, simultaneously, to show how much we care about our community", he continued.
Then in the evening, "We are going to throw a big party to celebrate our community Saturday night" beamed Pastor Long. Starting at 5 p.m., three bands will take the stage, Papa Q's BBQ will have mouthwatering plates, plus there will be fun games for the kids and huge inflatables.
The Paul Draper Band will be headlining the evenings music with a blend of blues, jazz, Christian, gospel and an original sound that has made this a must-see band. There will also be an obstacle course slide, bounce house and jousting ring.
The barbecue dinner is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 13 and under. All other aspects of the evening are free. The church is located at 3609 S.W. Missouri 7. For more information on purchasing tickets, joining the Mission Blitz, visit www.stpeterumc.org or call 816-229-9889.
