The Blue Springs man who died early Thursday morning was not a victim of a homicide.

Chad Creed, 39, died at a local hospital after police were called to America’s Best Value Inn hotel at 1110 N.W. Missouri 7 at about 2:15 a.m. in reference to a disturbance.

Troy Pharr, spokesperson for police, said neighbors of Room 139 called to report the disturbance. Police discovered Creed outside the room with a head injury.
Pharr said Creed had been living in the room for some time.

While he had been talking to officers as he left the property, Creed later died in the emergency room.

Pharr said Friday afternoon that an autopsy revealed that the injuries he sustained did not cause his death.

Police are now waiting on a toxicology report to determine what happened.
