One business out of 15 Blue Springs businesses was cited for selling alcohol to a minor.

Between 5-8 p.m. on Dec. 21, officers from the Blue Springs Police Department instructed an 18-year-old female to attempt to purchase alcoholic beverages from 15 businesses that have current liquor licenses with the city, according to the city.

The volunteer was instructed to provide the business with her actual Missouri driver’s license and to be honest with employees if asked about her age. A clerk at the BP Gas Station, 1001 Missouri 7, asked for identification, which the customer showed. The sale was made even though the license indicated she was underage.

The business was later cited.

The following businesses were checked and did not sell alcohol to the girl.
