  • Pastor Bob Spradling will receive a Civic Leadership Award from the Westgate Division of the Missouri Municipal League.  Independence Mayor Don Reimal selected Spradling based on his contributions to the community in many areas of service.
Bob has created an environment at Maywood Baptist Church where the lost can come get a second chance at life. In doing so Bob has earned a reputation as a great pastor, counselor, teammate, leader and most of all friend.
Bob is passionate for the people of Independence, responding to those requesting his leadership, treating everyone equally, not asking anyone to do something he will not do himself.
Bob was secretary of the NorthWest Communities Development Corporation and Board member from 2004-2010, acting secretary of the Fairmount-Carlisle 353 Tax Abatement Board and Board Member from 2006-2009. Through Maywood’s Neighborhood Network, families are served, community is built, food needs are met and dignity is kept intact.
Pastor Spradling was presented with a plaque in recognition of his contributions to the community at the Adams Pointe Conference Center, in Blue Springs.
The Missouri Municipal League is a nonpartisan, voluntary association serving 669 municipalities. The West Gate Division consists of those member municipalities in the five metropolitan counties of Jackson, Clay, Platte, Ray and Cass.
