Dr. Garry Lee Turner passed away in his Los Angeles, Calif., home on September 25, 2010.


He was born at the Fort Leavenworth Army Hospital, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, on April 27, 1954. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Independence, Mo., and Rockhurst College; he received his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences, Kansas City, Mo. Dr. Turner served in the United States Air Force; after receiving his medical degree, he became a medical doctor in the United States Army, achieving the rank of major. After six years on active duty, Dr. Turner had a private medical practice in St. Louis, Mo., served as Chief Medical Officer, Fort Belknap, Mont., followed by 25 years as an emergency room physician in Missouri and California.


Survivors include his wife, Sarah Turner, his father, William L. Turner, and his sister, Stacy Marie Turner.


Visitation will be on Thursday, September 30, 2010, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Parks, Glendale, California. Graveside burial arrangements will be scheduled at a later date.
